Act now to ensure girls equal opportunity in sports!
Urge your legislators to support the High School Athletics Accountability Act of 2009.

Currently, girls receive 1.25 million fewer opportunities to play high school sports than boys. It is difficult for advocates to promote fairness in high school athletic programs because high schools are not required to report any data of their athletics programs to the public. Without information on how athletic opportunities and funds are being allocated in high schools, female students lack an important tool to make their case for "fair play."

The High School Athletics Accountability Act of 2009 would help improve athletic opportunities for girls by requiring high schools to report basic information on the participation rates in sports and expenditures made for boys' and girls' sports teams. Better information can help schools and parents work toward fairness in athletic opportunities for girls and boys.

We need your help to convince Congress to pass the High School Athletics Accountability Act of 2009.
