THOUGHT OF THE MONTH...Role PlayingSTEP 1: Identify a situation or experience that is well known to you.
STEP 2: Place yourself in the situation. What do you see? What do you hear?
STEP 3: Once you have a clear picture of the situation, then select an EMOTION.
Imagine feeling the emotion in that situation to determine what your response would be.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Ask yourself..."If I feel __________ in this situation, what will be the consequences?"
STEP 4: Thoroughly experience your reaction, then select another
emotion and imagine feeling it in a similar context. Notice how your
reaction to situation changes in response to the new emotion.
STEP 5: Using the same situation, place a range of different emotions in place one at a time and notice the variations in your response. - L.C. Bandler
By
doing this exercise, you are basically performing a "dress-rehearsal."
You are mentally preparing and understanding yourself. See, hear and
feel YOU in a particular emotion and in a particular situation.
Identify yourself as either being part of the cause or part of the effect in a situation.
On
certain levels, the human mind doesn't distinguish between what
actually happens and doesn't happen. The exercise offers you
experience. Recognize the learnings in each scenario. Athletes often
run through an upcoming event before actually performing. They create a
mental, thus a physical experience of it. Can this exercise help you to
determine how you would like to perform in the future?
Try running this in your head before, during and after a situation.
Try being the OBSERVER witnessing the entire event. See yourself. Do not judge. Just observe.

Steps for Positive Observation
STEP 1: Recognize
What we are conditioned to experience... Where does the belief come from? Your belief or someone else's belief?
STEP 2: Realize
A positive outlook is a choice... You are always at choice. Example: Are you a smoker or someone who chooses to smoke?
STEP 3: Quantify
The positive and productive potential found within... You are and always have been total potential... Grab it... Grow it!
