Innocent ... simplistic ... uninhibited ... unconditioned ... non-conformed
perspectives and developments from our youth. Movements in education.
Getting back to the basics, (youth) and how we learn about ourselves,

Dictionary Day may not be a school holiday but it's not bad either, a
roomful of third-graders decided Thursday in San Francisco. That's because each of them got a free dictionary. It wasn't an
iPod, but it was something reasonably useful, even if it was both
educational and a book.
"Cool," said 8-year-old Alexis Martinez. "My own dictionary. Free." Five thousand Bay Area children got dictionaries because of
something called the California Dictionary Project, a San Francisco
foundation that believes in the power of the word.

A new study finds that children not involved in structured extracurricular activities may experience lower self-esteem, anxiety.
She's not yet six, but Isabella Wisniewski's day-timer is already
brimming with activities. There's school and homework, of course, then
taekwondo every weekday afternoon, gymnastics twice a week and diving
on Saturdays. A new study puts the lie to the popular notion that she's part of a generation of overwhelmed, overscheduled children. In

suffer more ill effects, according to the analysis by the Maryland
Population Research Centre.

influence of fellow students. And at most colleges, left-leaning peer
groups are more common than conservative ones. After college, students - particularly women - move somewhat back to the right politically.

When Maggie Doben's first-graders find a wheelchair in the middle of their room, she meets their curiosity with questions
of her own: Who might need to use this? Would they be able to get around the classroom? How do you think it works?
Inevitably
they ask if she knows anyone they can meet who uses a wheelchair. Of
course, she does. During an eight-week session, her students at the
Cambridge Friends School have the chance to befriend at least half a
dozen people with a wide range of physical disabilities. It's a unique program that's also part of a growing trend to help children become more sensitive to those who may somehow
be "different."

LONDON: Dads, please note - the more time you spend with your child, the more intelligent your child is going to be, says a new study.
Researchers in Britain have
carried out the study and found that children whose fathers play an active role
in their upbringing not only have higher IQs but are likely to achieve a higher
social status later in life too.
