Michelle Gaffney, 14, of Boulder, suffers from chronic pain after an infection complicated her back surgery last year. She has started making pillows for kids who have to stay in the hospital for long periods of time, a project she calls Comfy Kids. She’ll hand out the pillows this week before undergoing a fourth spinal surgery Friday.
