An anti-sunburn drug that protects even the fairest skinned people from skin cancer and ultra violet rays could soon be made available to the public.
The remedy - called Afamelanotide - mimics the body's natural defences and makes patients look tanned.
Dubbed a "UV vaccine", the drug also prevents cancer and works in people with a condition known as EPP that means that they are allergic to exposure to any natural light.
