The heavy words weigh down page after page, hardly the voice you'd expect from one of Boulder County's most well-known entrepreneurs, activists and filmmakers -- someone known for an upbeat and determined attitude.
But depression doesn't care about a person's wealth, ethnicity, age or even history. That was the most baffling thing of all to Susan Polis Schutz. Nothing happened. She just suddenly felt numb. Not sad. Just so emotionally paralyzed that she says she literally could not get out of bed.
She didn't know what to do, so she began writing.
