deck cross lines.jpg"Do we spend the majority of our time talking about things that we really LOVE or do we spend more time talking about things that are mediocre and things that frustrate us?"

Really think about this question. Notice your voice in conversations and notice what the conversations are really about. Consider where your thoughts are TODAY. Depending on where and what they are about will have a profound impact on the direction and degree in which you will grow. It is way too easy to go with the flow and complain about what is not working in the world. As a reminder, you have a choice when you communicate. You are always at choice. For instance, you may choose to remain passive and follow the herd mentality or you can choose to “color” your voice with interesting, remarkable and fresh perspectives. Add elements of curiosity into a conversation and notice the degree of creativity that bubbles up. Then suddenly, out of the fog of mediocrity and communal agitations comes forth new gifts of what is attainable in your life; in our lives.

It is challenging to look outside of the many boxes that we as a society build around ourselves and realize that all things, especially the things we love, are attainable. Resistance from the majority is commonplace. There are always those who choose to resist change, therefore they attempt to pull others back that choose new directions. Is it in our best interests to re-install things that continuously pull us backwards or could we instead create words and actions that heal us?

Do we have to wait until some life threatening disease or setback or economic downturn to occur before we begin to see and talk about things differently? Then again, how often do we actually step forward and create change in these situations? In these tough economic times and even in less turbulent times, shouldn't we focus on things that allow us to grow and expand? Times like these give forth new opportunities for open collaboration with others. These moments are also positive catalysts to rediscover our inner creativity and to seek new avenues of balance and forward progression.

Imagine that by focusing on things that we really love; therefore allowing new levels of excitement and creativity to surface, how our individual and collective actions will determine how we see and participate in our world. How about how we interact with other people or how we see ourselves? Would it offer greater clarity in your decisions or in how you may vote? Allow yourself to think differently. Notice if you begin to move towards desirable changes in your life or move away from less desirable aspects in your life. There is a difference. Where is more time being spent? Whether you think it or not, your words...your thoughts REALLY do matter. So…where are your thoughts today?

Steps for Positive Observation

STEP 1: Recognize
What we are conditioned to experience... Where does the belief come from?  Your belief or someone else's belief?

STEP 2: Realize
A positive outlook is a choice... You are always at choice.  Example: Are you a smoker or someone who chooses to smoke?

STEP 3: Quantify
The positive and productive potential found within... You are and always have been total potential... Grab it... Grow it!
