So you say you love nature and the environment? Take a moment and read the following information. See how long it takes each of these items to biodegrade into our lands and precious oceans.

Newspaper         1 Week

Banana                 3 Weeks

Cotton Rag          5 Months

Wool Sock            1 Year

Tin Can                  100 Years

Aluminum Can   200 - 500 years

Plastic Jog            1 Million Years

Styrofoam             Forever

50 - 60 billion tons of new plastic is manufactured every year.

Here's the deal. Scientists have found an area in the central Pacific Ocean"twice the size of Texas" where they measured 6 pounds of plastic per every pound of Phyto plankton. It is estimated that there are about 46,000 floating pieces of plastic for every square mile of ocean. Plasticeventually breaks down in to microscopic pieces, that in turn gets into marine life. Humans eventually digest these particles, which can have an impact our genetic code, thus cause sterility and infertility. The "circle of plastic" can have a million year shelf life.

Start making changes now that will positively affect our future generations.

Here is how you can help:

STOP or REDUCE buying plastic, Styrofoam or items contained in these materials.

START buying items in glass, cardboard or tin.

REUSE old containers you already have.

BUY IN BULK

Steps for Positive Observation

STEP 1: Recognize
What we are conditioned to experience... Where does the belief come from?  Your belief or someone else's belief?

STEP 2: Realize
A positive outlook is a choice... You are always at choice.  Example: Are you a smoker or someone who chooses to smoke?

STEP 3: Quantify
The positive and productive potential found within... You are and always have been total potential... Grab it... Grow it!
