Every Colorado resident is eligible to compete in the 2009 State Games of America, which will occur July 30 to Aug. 2 and will feature 31 different sports at 22 venues in Colorado Springs. Athletes of all ages and skill levels are invited to join "Team Colorado" and compete with some 10,000 athletes from 47 states.
The State Games of America is a prominent event for amateur athletes held every biennium under the banner of the National Congress of State Games. Medal winners from 49 State Games nationwide earn the right to compete against other winners in the national arena.
